The Role
At Basis Technologies, we’re always looking to strengthen the organization by adding top talent to join our team. We’re currently hiring for a Payroll and Benefits Manager, this is a new role, and we are looking for a highly organized and detail-oriented team member with strong systems and problem-solving skills.
Flexible schedule: Join our team on a part-time basis. We recognize that our employees have commitments outside of work, such as caring for children or pursuing other interests, and we want to offer flexibility in their work arrangements.
We're looking for a 5 days a week schedule with reduced hours (i.e. 10am - 2pm). The role is mostly remote with one day a week in the office - this can be discussed with the manager directly as well!
In this role, you’ll be responsible for maintaining accurate payroll and benefits data for our employees across the globe, as well as processing payroll, administering benefits, and producing reports. In this role you will work closely to the People Coordinator and report directly to the CPO.
In this role you will
- Lead day-to-day payroll and benefits operations, including data entry, reporting, auditing, and analyzing performance data. Ensure accurate and timely processing of payroll for all employees across multiple countries and currencies, following local regulations and company policies.
- Administer benefit programs, such as health and welfare plans, 401(k) plans, and flexible spending accounts. Understand and proactively inform yourself in global best practices.
- Respond to employee inquiries and analyze employee feedback to identify and address payroll and benefits issues.
- Stay up to date with local payroll regulations, tax laws, and compliance requirements in all countries where the company operates.
- Work cross-functionally with People/HR and Finance teams, and other stakeholders to ensure seamless communication and alignment.
- Maintain payroll-related documentation and records, such as payroll registers, tax filings, and audit trails, in compliance with local and international standards.
- Review and recommend improvements to current outsourced payroll bureau providers globally.
Previous experience and skills
- Practical experience in global/international payroll and benefits administration, including experience with data entry, processing payroll, and administering benefits. Non-negotiable requirement: experience in US and UK payroll.
- Knowledge on payroll related compliance, tax and income register requirements and processes as well as a genuine interest towards payroll related technologies.
- Experience with HRIS (HiBob) and payroll systems. Strong Skills in MS Office (Excel).
- Excellent attention to detail, accuracy, and ability to handle confidential information.
- Strong problem-solving and analytical skills to identify and address issues proactively.
- Ability to work independently and in a team environment, with a willingness to learn and adapt to changes in processes and systems.
